Now, tell me when are you going for your Personal Best? When are you going to write your headline? The year 2022 is nearly over.
It is irrelevant what happened in the past months. The setbacks the injuries, the great excuses you had that kept you from training, the excellent reasons you had to stay indoors, or not to stretch to strength train, or as to why you added that bit of extra weight.
Guess what… it all doesn’t matter. You know why? There still is time to set your best time. To leave a mark that establishes some point of reference that this was what was possible at this movement in time.
But.. before you continue. You must be absolutely determined to follow through. Complete what you set out to do. Because that will set you up better and stronger for 2023.
So are you ready? Put all those excuses driven thoughts into a big void and clean your mental slate. Here goes. After listening to this episode there could be the new records, new personal bests, or yearly best run time availbile.
Setting goals helps trigger new behaviors, helps guides your focus and helps you sustain that momentum in life. Goals also help align your focus and promote a sense of self-mastery. In the end, you can’t manage what you don’t measure and you can’t improve upon something that you don’t properly manage. Therefore you need to write down what exactly your goal will be.
Proverbs 16:3 “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
